Post-Game Wrap-Up: Milwaukee @ Butler

Post-Game Wrap-Up: Milwaukee @ Butler
Game #20 –Butler 72, Milwaukee 64

Full game recap and stats here

Player of the Game - Angela Rodriguez. A-Rod capped her weekend with another strong shooting game. She was 6-of-7 from the field and 5-for-6 on three-pointers. She finished with a team-high 17 points. In two games, she averaged 16.5 points, was 12-for-14 (.857) from the field and 9-of-10 (.900) on three-pointers.

Turning Point - 4:14 remaining. UWM did not allow another Butler field goal as the game would get as close as seven points. The Panthers could not get over that hump as the Bulldogs went 10-for-14 from the free throw line over the rest of the game.

Stat That Mattered - 19-8 turnovers. The rest of the stats across the board favored Milwaukee. If the turnover discrepancy was smaller, the outcome could have been different.

The Notebook - Rodriguez’s 5-for-6 (.833) on threes is tied for the sixth-best single-game three-point percentage in school history … this was her fourth game with at least four made threes this season … she hit her first four of the game, giving her a streak of eight-straight made threes. I’ll have to do research to see if anyone has made more in a row … Rodriguez now has 40 threes this season, fifth-most by a freshman in a season in school history ... Lindsay Laur collected her eighth double-double of the season and the 22nd of her career … she made her only free throw attempt and has now made 24 consecutive free throws dating back to Jan. 8 … Laur also moved into sixth place on UWM’s all-time rebounding list with 688. She passed Marsha Housely (681).

Up Next - Milwaukee returns home to start the second half of the league season Thursday, hosting Youngstown State at 7 p.m.
