Postgame Report: Milwaukee vs. Butler

Game #26 – Milwaukee 54, Butler 52

Full Recap and Stats

Player Of The Game: This one was an easy choice. When a junior sets a career-high with 14 rebounds and ties her career-high with 23 points, the only selection for "player of the game" is Sami Tucker. Her performance was impressive on many levels, making 9-of-17 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the FT line.

She joined Scott Warras on the radio following the contest, hear that interview HERE.

Play of the Game: Two UWM runs decided the game. Tied at 41, Tucker's three-point play broke the eighth deadlock of the night and gave UWM the lead for good at 44-41. That started a 10-1 run that eventually gave Milwaukee a 51-42 lead - its largest of the night.

In the first, Butler led 18-9, but UWM closed the rest of the half on a 18-7 run that gave it a 27-25 lead at the break.

Key Stats: The Panthers held Butler to 31.7% (19-60) from the floor and just 4-19 from 3-point range (21.1%), including a 1-10 showing in the first half. They also out-rebounded the Bulldogs, 44-39.

News and Notes: Tucker grabbed 14 rebounds on the night, with her second of the game - coming at the 8:55 mark of the first half - giving her 500 in her career, just the 22nd player to reach that plateau.

Freshman Kiki Wilson also closed in on a record, with her 3 assists giving her 104 to pull even with school freshman mark of 104.

Delays: The game hit a pair of delays ... one where the lights went out briefly during a timeout with 11:45 to go in the first half and another in the second when junior Sammy Theut and BU's Jenna Cobb collided head-to-head. Theut took the brunt of it, with blood visible on her face while she was attended to by medical staff. She walked off under her own power, but we will update her condition when we have the chance.

Up Next: UWM closes out the home slate of regular season games with a 2 p.m. tip-off against Valparaiso Saturday. Come on out for "Senior Day" and cheer on UWM's lone senior - Alex Klawitter - in pregame festivities.
