Postgame Report: Milwaukee at Youngstown State

Game #24 – Milwaukee 76, Youngstown State 71

Full Recap and Stats

Player Of The Game: The Panthers had four players in double-figures and put together a great second-half comeback, outscoring YSU 42-26 after halftime. Courtney Lindfors made a triumphant return to the court after missing two games, tying for the team-lead with 18 points. Sami Tucker also had 18, including a key three-pointer with 34 seconds left. Ashley Green also played a key role, scoring 14 of her 17 points after halftime. But it was Kiki Wilson who played the most crucial role, scoring 11 points (on 5-8 FG shooting) while adding a double-double with 10 assists - including one on that deciding Tucker three at the end of the game.

She joined Scott Warras on the radio following the contest, hear that interview HERE.

Play of the Game: A couple of crucial scenarios played key roles, starting with a 10-0 spurt by UWM that turned a 50-40 deficit into a tie game at 50-50. Next, a pair of freshmen helped complete the comeback, with Wilson setting up Ashley Green on back-to-back baskets that gave UWM its first lead (since 7-5), first at 63-62 before being extended to 65-62. Then, Wilson finished it off by setting up Tucker for that late three to put the game away with just 34 seconds left.

On a side note, my personal "Play of the Game" also involved Wilson, as she was inbounding a ball on the baseline under her own basket and threw it off Brandi Brown's back and made a layup before anyone knew what was happening. It was the second time she has pulled that off in her past three games. Check the game highlights - it's on there right around the 1:38 mark of the video.

Key Stats: The Panthers shot an impressive 56 percent from the floor, coming very close to the season-best 56.3 percent they shot in the first YSU game earlier this season. The team also had 20 assists on 28 made baskets, including those 10 from Wilson and a season-high 7 from Angela Rodriguez.

News and Notes: Tucker grabbed 3 more rebounds tonight to get to 492 in her career. She will look for #500 Saturday. With those 10 assists, Wilson looks to break the school freshman mark of 104 assists next as she now has 96.

Up Next: UWM closes out the weekend road trip with a stop at Cleveland State Saturday. Tip off is set for 12:30 p.m. CST.
