Milwaukee v. Wisconsin Match Report

#14 Milwaukee 2, #24 Wisconsin 1 (ot)
Sept. 11, 2011 – Engelmann Stadium (Milwaukee, Wis.)

Woman of the Match: Sarah Hagen. "Apple" was a one-woman offensive display. She outshot Wisconsin on her own, 12-10, and scored both of UWM's goals. If it wasn't for some exceptional play by UW keeper Michele Dalton, Hagen would've finished with three or four goals.

Hagen now has five goals in five career games vs. Wisconsin ... the game-winner was her 22nd career, twice as many as any other player in school history ... she now has 76 goals and 171 career points ... her 76 goals are tied with England international Kelly Smith (Seton Hall) for 24th in NCAA Division I history ... today was UWM's second win over a ranked opponent (UW was #24 in Soccer America poll) ... Milwaukee finishes the regular season (so to speak) with a 3-0 record against the Big Ten ... the assists were the second career for Hannah Kaul and Mary Wandolowski ... Keara Thompson's assist was her fifth of the season and the 18th of her career, tied for seventh in school history ... today's attendance was the seventh-largest in school history ... the school record for shots in a game had been 12 by Cammy Polson Nov. 2, 1997 ... the previous best start in school history was 6-1-1 in 2008 ...
