Marquette Invitational Notebook

The Panthers are moving on to league play after wrapping up the early portion of their non-league slate at the Marquette Invitational this past weekend. UWM lost three hard-fought matches against a very high level of competition. In fact, the three opponents entered the weekend with a 22-6 mark.

Player of the Week
Julie Kolinske, OH, So., Big Bend, Wis. Kolinske continues to post big numbers in the early season. She claimed a spot on the all-tournament team by averaging 4.00 kills and 3.08 digs. She had a double-double in each contest this weekend and now has 12 this season. Plus, she had 22 kills against Marquette, the third time this season she has reached that number.

News and Notes
Freshman Sammi Herron emerged as a key performer for the Panthers this past weekend. She had 13 kills against Iowa and 10 more against Pacific … Anna Bartz had a collegiate-best 29 digs vs. Iowa … Bartz is now up to 772 digs in her career and remains on pace to pass 1,000 by the end of the season … Elizabeth Egerer reached double figures in kills in two of the three matches over the weekend … after its loss to Iowa, UWM is now 0-4 in five-set matches this season … the Panthers also won the first set against both Pacific and Marquette before falling … Pacific is now receiving votes in the AVCA poll after going 3-0 on the weekend.
