Game #17 – Green Bay 69, Milwaukee 64
Player of the Game - Kaylon Williams again contributed with a little bit of everything Saturday, tallying 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Turning Point - Green Bay’s 19-3 second-half run proved to be too much for Milwaukee to overcome. But, the second foul called on Kaylon Williams with 4:13 remaining in the first half was also key. He wound up sitting out almost the entire rest of the half, as the Panthers went scoreless and UWM’s 32-30 lead turned into a 35-32 deficit.
Stat That Mattered - Milwaukee shooting touch let it down, as the Panthers made just 20-of-57 (35.1 percent) from the field. Anthony Hill was just 2-of-14 from the floor.
The Notebook - Green Bay now leads the all-time series 26-18 and has won three-straight over Milwaukee at the Resch Center … UWM has still won 14 of the last 23 meetings between the two schools overall … Milwaukee is now 34-15 in January under Rob Jeter … in spite of its general struggles from the field, UWM did make nine 3-pointers and has now made 36 three-pointers in its last three games … Anthony Hill had 12 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season and fourth of his career ... Tony Meier had 10 points and has now been in double figures in nine of his last 11 games … the Panthers played without Lonnie Boga, who was sidelined by an ankle injury.
Up Next - Milwaukee heads back to the U.S. Cellular Arena for a pair of home games, welcoming UIC to The Cell Thursday night before Loyola visits Saturday afternoon.
