With the completion of the 2010 NCAA Tournament, the NCAA released the final 2010 statistics. Sarah Hagen, named a semifinalist for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy and First-Team All-American last week, figured prominently in the nation in goals and points:
• 4th in points per game (44 points/21 games, 2.10)
• 3rd in goals per game (19 goals/21 games, 0.905)
• t-2nd in total goals
• 5th in total points
Here is a look at Hagen's rankings in each of her first two seasons:
• 2008: 6th in points per game (2.35), 3rd in goals per game (1.043)
• 2009: 2nd in points per game (2.52), 1st in goals per game (1.143)
She has more goals in the last three seasons than any other player (67). Stanford's Christen Press is second with 63. Press is also the only player with more points in that time than Hagen (161-151).
Other Notes
• The Panthers played their first two games of 2010 against teams that advanced to the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament (Ohio State, national champion Notre Dame). UND topped OSU in the national semifinals.
• Milwaukee was one of six teams to play two Final Four opponents in non-league play during the 2010 regular season. The Panthers played Notre Dame (lost 3-0) and Ohio State (won 2-1). Other teams were Boston University, Duke, Florida State, North Carolina and Santa Clara.
• Seven opponents from the Panthers' 10-team non-league schedule made the tournament and went a combined 11-5-3.
