Butler has beaten Loyola, 3-1, in the second quarterfinal of the day Friday in Cleveland, meaning UWM will now face the Bulldogs in a semifinal Saturday.
Butler actually dropped the first set to Loyola, 25-7. But the Bulldogs bounced back to win the next three sets - 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.
UWM and Butler split their two regular season meetings, with each team winning on its homecourt. The loss to the Bulldogs in Indianapolis is actually the last time the Panthers suffered a loss.
